What VDE Tools Do You Need?

With the rapid development of science and technology, people's living standards continue to improve, and more and more electrical products have entered our homes. In order to ensure the personal safety of users, countries around the world have relevant laws and regulations to restrict various hazards caused by electrical products to the human body. kind of harm. VDE tools are a type of product that exist to protect people's safety.

Before we discuss the VDE suite of tools, let’s make sure you know what VDE is?

The logo of VDE

VDE is the Association for Electrical, Electronics and Information Technology (formerly the Association of German Electrical Engineers) founded in 1893. It is the largest industry association in Europe in the field of electronic, electrical and information technology and is directly involved in the formulation of German national standards. VDE is headquartered in Frankfurt, with representative offices in Berlin and Brussels. In addition, it has branches and offices in Europe, North Africa, Asia and the Americas.

VDE has a wide range of testing and certification services, covering electronic and electrical components, lamps and lighting equipment, consumer electronics products, information technology and audio and video equipment, home appliances, power tools and garden tools, solar products, fuel cells, batteries, industrial engineering, medical Equipment, automotive electronics, installation technology, wires and cables, etc.

How to choose VDE tools?

The selected VDE products must have clear safety signs displayed.

For electrical products, VDE provides a complete set of testing services that combines insulation material testing with other safety testing and is performed according to various standards (VDE, DIN, EN, IEC). Only products that can pass the following 6 tests can use the VDE mark on the product.

1.Dielectric Test

After storing tools underwater the 10000V test is conducted.During thetest, neither a breakdown nor flashover shall occur.

2. Pressure Test

After being stored under a standard pressure load and a tempera-ture of 70°C for 2 hours, tools are tested for 3 minutes of continous high power. During the test, neither a breakdown nor flashover shall occur.

3. Flame Test

The tool insulation is put into 20mm methane flame for 10 seconds. lf the flame height is less than 120mm during testing time it means that the insulation material is flame resistant.

4. Extreme Low Temperature lmpact Test

Tools are cooled down to the temperature of -40°C for 2 hours.The toughness of the insulation material is checked by dropping weight on the tools.The insulation must absorb the impact without breaking or cracking.

5. Insulation Layer Adhesion Test

After storing tools for 168 hours in 70C the insulation coating is tested with a standard load force for 3 minutes.The insulating material must remain firmly connected to the basic tool.

6. Marking Durability Test

The marking is rubbed for 15 seconds with a rag soaked in water and then for 15 seconds with a rag soaked in isopropylalcohol.Afterward the marking shall still be legible.

Only factories with the above testing capabilities can register with the VDE agency and obtain an exclusive number.

VDE tools have the following scope of use:

*Maintenance and repair of household appliances and outdoor street light poles;

*Maintenance and repair of manufacturing, mining, ship terminals, etc.;

*Maintenance and repair of new energy vehicles, high-speed rail, etc.

The VDE set has a more comprehensive range of use. It is recommended to have a universal VDE set at home. Our store also has professional VDE sets, click on the link to choose.
